2026 VMAs: Taylor Swift steals award show, sets new record

Country singer Taylor Swift stole the show at the MTV Video Music Awards, held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, making history as the most awarded artist.
Swift, 36, initially tied with Beyoncé for the most Moonman statuettes, with 30. However, she broke the tie with the inaugural Artist Director Honours, thanks to her visual storytelling.
The ‘Fate of Ophelia’ crooner also took home the Video of the Year award, which she dedicated to late country legend Dolly Parton.
Swift lauded Dolly Parton’s musical legacy, adding that “every single song she wrote, her storytelling was so vivid.”
