2027: INEC ready for transparent elections in Benue — REC

The newly deployed Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Benue State, Aminu Idris, has officially taken over leadership of the commission in the state.
Idris reaffirmed INEC’s resolve to guarantee credible electoral processes ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that every qualified Nigerian must be given the opportunity to participate in the democratic process.
Speaking with journalists in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, the REC described the media as an indispensable stakeholder in deepening democracy through accurate dissemination of electoral information and public enlightenment on the Commission’s activities. ...
