2027: Kwankwaso And I Won’t Buy Votes – Obi

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, says his ticket will not engage in vote-buying ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Obi, who spoke at a town hall meeting in Sokoto on Thursday alongside his running mate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, said no funds would be made available to party agents for voter inducement.
He linked the monetisation of elections to the country’s worsening poverty.
“We are not ready to give money to party agents to entice voters. That is vote-buying, and it is part of the reason why poverty continues to rise in the country,” Obi said.
