Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has pledged to prioritise the welfare of police personnel and work towards building a better future for security officers and their families if elected in the 2027 general elections.
Obi made the promise in a viral video while addressing police officers, where he commended their service to the nation and assured them that his administration would focus on improving their welfare rather than exposing them to unnecessary hardship.
According to him, many Nigerians are battling severe economic difficulties, with families struggling to meet basic needs, including paying hospital bills.
