The committee investigating the death of 37 miners in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) had sought a two-week extension from the federal government, as its probe flagged institutional gaps, overzealousness and concerns over professionalism in the handling of the incident.
The committee that was inaugurated two weeks ago to inviigate the miners deaths cited the complexity of the case and the need to produce a thorough and credible report.
