UMUAHIA — The governorship candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Abia State, Major General Ijioma Nwokoro Ijioma (retd.), has challenged Governor Alex Otti over the N150 million signage fee reportedly imposed on governorship candidates ahead of the 2027 election, describing the charge as excessive and threatening legal action.
Ijioma, who spoke at a press conference in Umuahia, alleged that the fee could undermine political participation and create an uneven playing field ahead of the election.
