The Abia State governorship candidate of the Action People’s Party (APP), Major General Ijioma Nwokoro Ijioma (retd), has kicked off his campaign for the 2027 polls with the promise to, among other things, secure the release of the convicted leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, if elected.
Speaking at Umuhu-Ezechi in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, where the flag-off took place, General Ijioma said it was unfortunate that despite pronouncements by courts of competent jurisdiction for Kanu’s release, he was still left in prison.
