‘Absolute Nonsense’, Obasanjo Slams Tinubu Over Borrowing, Says Debt Destroys Generations

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has criticised President Bola Tinubu over his defence of government borrowing, describing the claim that borrowing is not leprosy as “absolute nonsense”.
Obasanjo argued that Nigeria’s growing debt burden poses a threat to future generations, insisting that the consequences of excessive borrowing are more damaging than the disease.
The former president spoke on Friday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, at the Ajibosin Platform, a public forum themed “Leveraging Artificial Intelligence to Solve Grassroots Problems and Accelerate National Development”.
