For thousands of Abuja commuters, the roadside is more than a place to catch a bus. It is a lifeline. Every morning, long before the city fully wakes up, passengers spill out of neighbourhoods, estates and side streets onto major roads, waving at passing taxis and buses. Drivers slow down, doors swing open and commuters scramble inside.
