The Adamawa State Government is set to demolish a popular housing cluster commonly known as the Doctors Quarters.
The Doctors Quarters, built in 1975 as part of the facilities accompanying the state’s then largest healthcare facility, the Specialist Hospital, Yola, will make way for a new housing estate consisting of 48 units.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri gave the directive for the demolition of the old quarters on Monday when, during a visit to the site, he described the quarters as dilapidated structures that are no longer suitable as accommodation for medical personnel.
