Africa Women Conference Mourns Nollywood Actor Francis Duru

The Africa Women Conference (AWC) has mourned the death of celebrated Nollywood actor, Francis Duru, describing him as a valued member of the conference family whose contributions enriched the organisation over the years.
The AWC Convener, Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, in a statement issued on Friday, said Duru’s death was a painful loss to the creative industry and the wider conference community.
Ahmadu said the actor’s death was particularly poignant as the organisation prepares for its 10th Anniversary Edition in Accra, Ghana.
She said as the conference reflects on personalities who have contributed to its growth and history, Duru would remain an important part of its story.
