AI photo controversy: 'Online voters’ register not final‘ - INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has stated that the Preliminary Register of Voters published on its website is not the final certified register, following public concerns and social media reports of suspected AI-generated photographs in the document. In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, IVEC, Commissioner Mohammed Kudu Haruna, said the preliminary register remains subject to scrutiny, verification and correction before certification.
