Akara comment: Critics unfair to Remi Tinubu – Shehu Sani

Senator Shehu Sani, the Kaduna Central senatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), said critics of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu were being unfair.
The president’s wife recently advised struggling Nigerians to start micro-businesses, such as frying akara (bean cakes) or roasting corn, to cope with lingering economic hardship and soaring food prices.
Her comments rubbed many Nigerians wrongly and they did not hesitate to express their displeasure, especially on social media.
But in an X post on Monday, Sani urged critics of the First Lady to focus on her record since her husband’s inauguration in May 2023 rather than rush to crucify her over a single incident.
