Amnesty International has condemned a deadly attack by gunmen in Ungushi community of Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State, in which at least 32 people were killed.
The attack, which occurred on Friday afternoon, also left dozens of residents injured, while homes were reportedly set ablaze and shops looted.
According to a statement posted on its verified Facebook page, Amnesty said the attackers invaded the community on motorcycles and first targeted a Juma’at mosque, killing worshippers. Among those killed was Malam Aliyu, the Imam of the mosque.
