Borno herbal practitioner faults ‘no cure’ claims for some ailments

A popular herbal medicine practitioner in Borno State, Mallam Garba Maidawa, has faulted medical doctors for telling patients that some sicknesses have no cure.
Maidawa said in an interview with Daily Sun in Maiduguri yesterday that many people had died because of such pronouncements by orthodox medical practitioners.
According to him, patients with life-threatening conditions often give up when told their illness cannot be cured. He said the statement weakens their will to seek treatment and survive.
