Laolu Akande, former spokesman to ex-Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, has challenged claims by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, that ex-President Muhammadu Buhari considered Osinbajo’s 2023 presidential ambition inappropriate because of his relationship with President Bola Tinubu.
Akande said Buhari had personally offered to support Osinbajo’s presidential aspiration on at least four occasions during the build-up to the 2022 All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary.
