ABUJA — Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso, has launched the CBN Naira Ambassadors Club, an initiative aimed at promoting the proper handling and preservation of Nigeria’s currency.
The club, comprising students from secondary schools across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was inaugurated on Monday at the CBN headquarters in Abuja.
Speaking at the launch, Cardoso said the campaign became necessary because of the substantial resources the apex bank spends on printing and replacing damaged banknotes.
