A New Zealand council meeting has attracted widespread attention after a councillor joined a livestream from her bathroom with laundry, including underwear, visible in the background.
Dunedin City Councillor Jo Galer logged into the remote meeting on Monday while drying clothes in her bathroom. During the session, Mayor Sophie Barker interrupted to discreetly point out that Galer’s laundry was clearly visible on camera.
“You might want to move your camera,” Barker told her.
Galer appeared unfazed, asking, “Why? Where is it?” After the mayor explained that the meeting could see her washing, Galer replied that it was “no problem” and continued with her remarks.
