Deaf Athletes Protest Exclusion From 2026 National Sports Festival

Deaf athletes and sports stakeholders have staged protests in several parts of Nigeria over the exclusion of Deaf sports from the compulsory events for the 2026 National Sports Festival (NSF), scheduled to hold in Enugu from 27 November to 11 December.
The protesters are demanding the reinstatement of Deaf sports as compulsory events at the Coal City Games, accusing the National Sports Commission (NSC) of reversing an earlier decision that granted the sports permanent status at the festival.
