Renowned Virologist and chairman of the West African National Academy of Scientists, Professor Oyewale Tomori, has raised concerns over the time it took Nigerian health authorities to confirm the country’s Ebola case, warning that delays in diagnosis and incomplete public information could undermine confidence in the national response.
Tomori’s concerns come amid questions about the circumstances surrounding the confirmed case, the patient’s travel history and the adequacy of Nigeria’s preparedness to contain the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola virus disease.
