ABAKALIKI — The Ebonyi State House of Assembly has passed a Bill seeking to amend the High Court Law of Ebonyi State, 2009, to increase the number of High Court judges in the state from 25 to 50.
The Bill also proposes that the Chief Judge and judges of the state retire at the age of 70, subject to applicable constitutional provisions governing the appointment, tenure and retirement of judicial officers.
The legislation was passed during plenary at the Legislative Complex, Nkaliki Road, Abakaliki, presided over by the Speaker, Chief Moses Ije Odunwa.
