Eko Power assures solar users of no penalties

Eko Power Ltd. says customers who invest in solar energy will not be penalised or disconnected for low electricity consumption.

Mr Abiola Aloba, General Manager, Corporate Communication Unit of Eko Power, said this in a statement on Friday in Lagos.

The company’s clarification followed a complaint by Mr Raphael Awoseyin on Oct. 19, alleging repeated visits by its personnel after installing an 18-kilowatt solar power system at his property.

Awoseyin said that the personnel inspected his prepaid meter over suspicions of meter bypass because it was recording little or no electricity consumption.
