Elumelu named Seplat Energy Chairman, Okon appointed CEO

The Board of Directors of Seplat Energy has appointed Tony Elumelu as its next Chairman and named Engr. Effiong Okon as Chief Executive Officer in a major leadership transition aimed at driving the company’s next phase of growth.
The appointments were announced in a notice filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on Tuesday and signed by the company secretary, Edith Onwuchekwa.
Elumelu will succeed Udoma Udo Udoma as Chairman effective January 2027, while Okon will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer from August 1, 2026.
