FG bows to SSANU pressure, releases eight months’ arrears

—As SSANU hails minister’s swift reaction

Less than two days after issuing a 14-day ultimatum over the implementation of the 2026 FGN/SSANU Agreement, the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has commended the Federal Government for releasing eight months’ salary arrears to its members.
SSANU said the prompt intervention demonstrated responsiveness by the Federal Government and underscored the commitment of the Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa, to honouring agreements reached with university-based unions.
