Flooding: Residents petition Wike over rock blasting, canal filling

Abuja: Some residents of Guzape District in Abuja, have petitioned the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Nyesom Wike, over continued rock blasting and the planned filling of a drainage channel near their property, warning that the activities have caused extensive structural damage and now threaten to trigger flooding in the area.
The complaint was contained in a petition by the residents represented by a lawyer, Adango Jumbo and Prince Joseph Kpokpogri whose property at Plot 1785, Cadastral Zone A09, Guzape District, has borne the brunt of the blasting.
