The July 2026 Webometrics Ranking of World Universities has placed the University of Ibadan (UI) at the top of the Nigerian university ranking, with four other institutions completing the country’s top five.
The ranking assessed 32,148 universities and higher education institutions worldwide, with emphasis on digital visibility, openness and research excellence.
Here are the five highest-ranked Nigerian universities in the latest 2026 ranking:
1. University of Ibadan (UI)
The University of Ibadan emerged as Nigeria’s highest-ranked university in the July 2026 Webometrics ranking.
