Gov Bala Assents To Law Establishing Mining Institute

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has assented to the law establishing the Mining Institute, Alkaleri, Bauchi State (MIABAS), as part of efforts to strengthen mining education, promote technical skills acquisition, curb illegal mining and maximise the economic benefits of the state’s solid mineral resources.
The assent followed the passage of the bill by the Bauchi State House of Assembly, paving the way for the establishment of a specialised institution dedicated to mining education and technical skills development.
