The Foundation for Democracy in Africa (FDA) has congratulated the Nigerian Army on its recognition as Africa’s Best National Army in Counter-Terrorism Operations for 2025.
The group said the award, presented by African Security Watch at a ceremony in Banjul, The Gambia, reflected the Army’s efforts in tackling terrorism and other security challenges across the country.
In a statement, the Foundation linked the recognition to the leadership of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, describing the award as an endorsement of the Army’s current operational strategy.
