Some unidentified gunmen invaded Ora-Igbomina in Ifedayo Local Government Council Area of Osun State, abducting the council vice-chairman, Debo Faroumbi.
It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the community at night on Tuesday, shooting sporadically into the air and creating panic in the town.
The gunmen, it was gathered, picked four residents, including two Fulani women, a resident and Mr Faroumbi.
However, the gunmen were quickly resisted by the military stationed in the town who relentlessly pursued the assailants, forcing them to abandon three of the victims and whisk away the council officials into the forest.
