For more than seven decades, the iconic Muhammadu Ladan House stood as a symbol of public broadcasting in Northern Nigeria, surviving political transitions, technological revolutions and the changing fortunes of the media industry.
 

But in one devastating day, the historic structure was reduced to a smoking shell as a raging inferno burned uninterrupted for nearly 12 hours.
