How Bandits Cut Off My Fingers – Kaduna Fisherman

A fisherman and father of four, Ibrahim Abubakar, has recounted how bandits cut off two of his fingers while he fled for his life during an attack on his community in Maraban Jos, Kaduna State.
Abubakar told LEADERSHIP that the attack occurred between 1am and 2am on August 9, 2026, when the assailants stromed the community and carted away valuables.
“I woke up confused and started running for my life,” he said.
Abubakar said the bandits cut off two of his fingers as he tried to escape from them.
The fisherman said he was still in pain following the incident, adding that coping with the loss of his fingers had not been easy.
