Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, has assured residents of the state that he will not assume the role of a political godfather who would interfere with governance or hinder his successor from providing effective leadership after the 2027 general elections.
Makinde gave the assurance while hosting members of the Muslim community during a Hijrah 1448 luncheon held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Agodi, Ibadan yesterday.
The governor stated that, having served the people of Oyo State for eight years, he would ensure a smooth transition process that allows his successor to develop and implement policies in line with the aspirations and yearnings of the people.
