The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has ordered the deployment of Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs) to Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones and directed Commissioners of Police nationwide to commence coordinated inter-state security operations aimed at tackling cross-border crimes.
A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, said the new security measures, which take effect from June 15, 2026, were announced during the monthly conference of strategic senior officers at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
