The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, has urged police officers to begin preparing early for retirement while reaffirming his commitment to improving the welfare of serving and retired personnel.
Disu made the call on Tuesday while delivering the keynote address at the Gallant Officers Recognition & Welfare Initiative 2026, organised virtually by Naija Police & U (Friend or Friend).
He advised officers to acquire additional skills, pursue further education, make prudent financial decisions and embrace lifelong learning to ensure a smooth transition from active service.
