Happy 69th Birthday to His Excellency, Dr. Ikedi Godson Ohakim, GSSI. History forgets most politicians. It remembers the few who dared to design systems, not just projects. Dr. Ikedi Ohakim was one of them.
1. He started on day one. With courage.
Three months after taking office, on August 10, 2007, Ohakim did what many called impossible.
He launched The Clean & Green Initiative.
Not a photo-op. A statewide war on dirt and disorder. ENTRACO was mobilized. Citizens were engaged. In 12 months, open defecation was eradicated.
