INEC investigates suspected AI-generated photos in voters’ register

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is investigating concerns over suspected AI-generated photographs in its preliminary voters’ register, following public questions about the images ahead of the 2027 elections. The commission disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, October 27, by Mohammed Kudu Haruna, Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee.
