Insecurity: Makinde imposes 16-hour curfew in 10 Oyo LGAs

The Oyo State Government has declared a 16-hour curfew in 10 local government areas of the state, with effect from Wednesday, 24 June 2026.
Governor Seyi Makinde approved the curfew, which will run daily from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. and remain in force for an initial period of 48 hours.
The directive was contained in a memo issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde, who said the measure was aimed at addressing security concerns in local government areas bordering the Old Oyo National Park.
According to the statement, “Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the declaration of a 16-hour curfew in 10 local government areas of the state.” ...
