Portuguese Minister of Economy, Manuel Castro Almeida has noted that not many people would know there is a country called Portugal if not for Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to the minister, the former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus superstar is the most popular person in the country.
Ronaldo found himself at the centre of controversy following his departure from the Portugal national team’s training facility over an alleged disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus.
