June 12 symbol of democracy –Abia LP

The Abia State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) said June 12 remains a historic symbol of the collective struggle for freedom, justice, popular participation, and the right of the people to determine their own future through democratic processes.
In a statement issued last Saturday and signed by the state’s party chairman, Peter Azubuike, the Labour Party said that, as the people of Abia State continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy through the leadership of Governor Alex Otti, it is important to remind citizens that democracy can only flourish when citizens actively participate in the electoral process.
