Kano CP directs police commanders to remain neutral ahead of 2027 elections

The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has directed operational commanders across the state to remain neutral, professional and non-partisan ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Bakori gave the directive on Monday, September 28, 2026, during a strategic lecture on election security management held at the Police Officers’ Mess in Bompai, Kano.
A statement signed by CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer, on behalf of the Kano State Commissioner of Police, said the meeting was attended by area commanders, divisional police officers, heads of tactical and operational units, and other senior officers.
