The Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Muhammad Maharaz, has urged the government and other stakeholders to prioritise nomadic education to ensure children in nomadic communities have access to quality basic education.
Maharaz made the call at the launch of the 2026/2027 state-wide enrolment drive campaign in Karaye Emirate, organised by the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board(SUBEB) in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission.
According to a statement issued by the SUBEB Director of Corporate Communications, Balarabe Jazuli, the emir stressed the need for learning opportunities that take into account the lifestyle and mobility of nomadic communities.
