The Kano State Police Command has dismantled a drug syndicate in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, recovering 879 parcels of suspected Cannabis Sativa and arresting a suspect.
The Command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Kano.
He said the suspect, Umaru, popularly known as “Jalo” of Yan Shado village, was arrested on May 13, 2026, at about 6pm while allegedly offloading 18 sacks of dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa into his residence.
According to him, operatives of the Dawakin Tofa Police Division carried out the operation based on credible intelligence.
