Kano Sharia Commission Bans ‘Attachment’ Between Keke Riders, Female Passengers

The Kano State Sharia Commission has banned the practice known as “attachment,” in which commercial tricycle (keke) riders carry female passengers on the sides of their vehicles, saying it violates Islamic teachings.
The commission announced the directive during a meeting with leaders of the Tricycle Owners and Riders Association (BOTORA), where both parties discussed ways to improve order and discipline in Kano’s commercial transport sector.
