Kano vigilantes remanded over alleged murder

A Kano State Sharia Court has ordered the remand of two vigilante operatives at a correctional centre over the alleged killing of a young man, Umar Muhammad Bachirawa. The defendants, Mas’udu Abdullahi Bachirawa and Kabiru Adamu Bachirawa, were brought before the court by the police over allegations that they killed Umar following a disagreement involving a dog. The case was heard by Garba Hamza Malafa, while the prosecution was led by Awaisu Sani Lawan, who asked the court to read the charges to the defendants.
