Katsina: Security forces kill 18 terrorists in ambush

A combined team of security forces including hunters on Monday reportedly killed 18 terrorists in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina.
A statement by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasir Mua’zu, described the development as a major breakthrough recorded in the ongoing fight against banditry in Katsina State.
According to the statement, “in the early hours of Monday, September 21, 2026, at about 0100 hours, a joint security operation comprising hunters, members of the Community Watch Corps and local vigilance groups successfully ambushed and neutralized 18 bandits at Gidan Iyado, Kakumi Ward, Bakori Local Government Area....
