The Maritime Correspondents’ Organisation of Nigeria (MARCON) has described the newly signed Nigerian Ports Economic Regulatory Agency (NPERA) Act, 2026 as a major reform that will boost investor confidence and improve the efficiency and competitiveness of Nigeria’s ports.
In a statement issued in Lagos recently by its President, Ismail Aniemu, MARCON said the presidential assent to the legislation would end years of regulatory uncertainty in the port sector and provide a clear legal framework for economic regulation.
