MultiChoice Nigeria retains local autonomy under CANAL+ ownership

MultiChoice Nigeria has clarified that its operations remain locally driven despite its ownership by French media and entertainment group CANAL+, with key business decisions continuing to be made in Nigeria.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Kemi Omotosho, said the Nigerian business operates as part of the global CANAL+ Group but retains autonomy over decisions affecting its customers, employees, partners and local creative industry.
Omotosho explained that pricing, content strategy, channel packaging and distribution plans for DStv and GOtv are developed by the Nigerian executive team based on local market conditions and consumer needs.
