N500 to dollar: Showunmi tackles Utomi over Obi’s economic promise

A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Segun Showunmi, has criticised Professor Pat Utomi over his claim that Peter Obi could strengthen the naira to N500 against the dollar if elected president in 2027.
In a statement on Friday, Showunmi described the claim as a fundamental fallacy, arguing that the proposed exchange rate was unrealistic and could mislead Nigerians.
Utomi had earlier claimed that Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), would strengthen the naira to N500 against the dollar through effective economic management if elected president in 2027.
