United Nigeria Airlines (UNA), on Thursday, unveiled two newly acquired Boeing 737-800NG aircraft named in honour of the late novelist Professor Chinua Achebe and the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, with the airline’s executive chairman, Professor Obiora Okonkwo, telling guests in Lagos that four more aircraft are expected to join the fleet in the coming months.
Okonkwo said the two planes are only the first delivery from an original order of six. He said of six aircraft the airline was originally pursuing, the first two have now arrived and four more are expected.
