NDC lawyers ask Okonkwo to retract defamatory comments against Obi

The legal wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has threatened to haul former actor and politician Kenneth Okonkwo before the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC), accusing him of conduct unbecoming of a lawyer following what it described as repeated and malicious attacks on the party’s 2027 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.
The threat, issued by the NDC Legal Advocates for Ethics under the leadership of Dr. Maxwell Opara, came as Mr. Obi himself moved to file a N5 billion defamation lawsuit against Mr. Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
